Top highlights from the tumultuous first half of 2023
Here's a look back at the most popular posts and podcasts from Oregon360 Media in the first six months of 2023.
The first 6 months of 2023 will go down in Oregon’s history—because a lot has happened.
Oregon has a quirky schedule where the legislature only meets every other year for a “long” session, in odd numbered years. So, with the turning of the calendar, January 2023 brought a sense of excitement for the new legislative session.
But, this year has been anything but smooth. The Senate Republicans walked out in early May. The Governor declared the session at an impasse by early June. And, in the midst of all of this, Secretary of State Shemia Fagan resigned.
Throughout the turmoil, our goal has remained the same: to help keep you informed. Our guests and contributors span different ideologies, geographies, and backgrounds. But we are committed to having serious, solutions-focused conversations grounded in facts.
You won’t agree with all the views in OR360. But at least we’re talking to each other. Hopefully, we're building a collective understanding of the problems we face and the state we live in. We can only grow our content because of paid subscribers. Please consider subscribing today.
