Generally when we are told how racist we were it comes from a valley liberal. For those of us in the rest of the state, there are many areas that have lived with multi cultures for years and never think about race. History is important but the purpose is defeated when we repeatedly here from Oregons failed Governor and others usually from Portland using all the liberal pc terms. Yes there is an urban rural divide and this is another reason for it.

Gosh, GBrown, just because you know very little of Oregon’s long and tragic history of legally marginalizing all non-white minorities (and even Catholics), doesn't mean it didn’t happen. And just because the racism isn’t obviously expressed by white-hooded men burning crosses or most rural Oregon towns posting sundown restrictions at their city limits, anymore …. the repressive attitudes of white privilege are still common in our state. One of the most common indications that such harmful attitudes still exist is your complete denial that a more complete and accurate knowledge of Oregon history is necessary or helpful.

You really proved my point. You falsely accuse me of not knowing Oregon’s past history and you then take your false statement and accuse me of white privilege. You really are the problem.
